Hey guys need a quick answer here. 03 cat 6nz in a 379, okay I got a water temperature gets high and cools down slow I've got a new radiator, CAC I have new a/c condenser and I had new 180 thermostats put in at for about a year ago what would cause the water temp tocool slow with fan on. I think I got a bad fan hub! Cuz when I turn the fan on then off.. it won't shut off unless I kick the trk outta gear n let the rpm drop to idle then put back in gear and its fine n off. Thanks guys

What does the fan hub look like? Is it missing any clutch material, warped, look like excessive heat? With the engine off and the hub locked, can you grab the fan and spin it? With it released, does it spin freely? Any air leaks to it?

With the truck cold, start it up with the fan engauged. Rev it up for 30-40 seconds, then shut it off and feel the hub. If it's hot, then it's slipping. On an 03, you should have a fan that air releases it, so you can just unpplug the fan solenoid to make it run cold to check it.

If you find a problem with the hub, look into a Kit Masters rebuld kit, we've had better luck with them and they're cheaper than Horton's or Borg-Warners. My second choice is he Borg-warners becasue they are so easy to check and replace the friction material.

With the fan slipping will it cause it to run hot an big hills by not keeping up? Cause the temp runs fine during the day on flat and at night except on big hills. Its not the thermostats I just changed them again n upgraded to 190s and water pump is good with 20-23psi with a 16lb cap

Superhauler I was reading a post of yours. Did you drop a cylinder due to an injector?
