60 quart container something solid plastic 7.0 " H x 18.8 " W preferable with a lid to seal your oil from debris. now i picked this tote due to it having wheels it will make it easy to roll away from oilpan so you can work on the gasket. for $12. ya cant beat it.

a small hand pump to replace oil back into motor.( unless your going to do an oil change at same time. and that addes filters ect...)

Set of complete sockets 3/8 drive min. better to have 1/2" drive and a 3' breaker bar

12" cresent wrench for oil drain plugs. if you dont have the proper socket

can of kitty litter for any spills of oil ( for the tree huggers worried you will be sloppy)

    Puddy knife and rags

brake klean helps with removing oil off edge of oil pan and block before removing bolts

Floor jack / two jack stands

    a few sections of 2x4
below is a typical cat c-15 gasket

this could be your oil pan gasket. not all look like this just a picture of the big monster

I will update with pictures through the day. as well as document any issues we come across. I will try and keep an eye on time as well.

This is not recommeded to be done alone. due to the weight of the pan, always have a helper just in case of an accident you have assistance.

That'll usually be a 1.5"wrench or socket on a Cat, about 60 ftlbs. torque.

why not time it with an oil change?

i learned a cool trick on cummins pan gasket, it does not have divots for the gasket to sit still while installing. mechanic sprayed edges of pan with adhesive spray (lightly) and placed gasket on adhesive. it was still and didnt budge upon installation.
