Does anyone know what type of Bellhousing a 9 speed Eaton Fuller is on a 11.1 Series 60? I'm researching into swapping over to a 4 speed HT-740 mechanical, or possibly an ATEC Allison. Not looking for a World(IE, B500) but the older more bullet proof 4/5 speed automatics. The prices are really low now a days. Any more info appreciated. Thanks.

yep, U can with some minor reprogramming with DDRS. But old pre electronic auto makes truck to be THE REAL gas gussler.....

I remember old LIAZ buses with fully mechanical auto. Converting to manual increases fuel milage twice.

What year is the truck? what EEC? I sugest DDEC-III. No J1922 and cant be used with electronic transmission.

I have a DDEC II, so it would have to be an old 740 or ATEC Allison. Why does it make them a gas guzzler? I've driven the HT740's, they can be a little slow to shift and the gap between gears a bit tall compared to the B500. But, your argument is the electronic is worse than the mechanical Allison, why is that?

I can see the only way - swap ECM with EEC-IV and use Alisson 6 st tranny with electronic control

Old HT-740 got no TC lock up solenoid, no OD. It is enlarged car tranny, really old design. Yep simple and bulletproof, but not modern tranny that lets U save fuel

Does anyone have a list for a typical conversion from an Eaton Fuller to an Allison B500, 4060 or 4500?

From the top of my head:

    1. Bell housing
    2. Transmission
    3. Drive shaft
    4. Shift pad
    5. ECU
    6. Oil Cooler

    Am I missing anything?
