I have a 2000 T600 with a C12 (couldnt be happier) rated at 430 HP. While doing some online reading I saw that CAT offered this engine as an RV application in the rich guy style motorhome at 480 HP. Why would they offer it in an RV that might weigh 30K lbs n not a truck that might weigh 80K lbs??? How easy is it to boost it up from 430 to 480?
C12 - 430 HP or 480 HP

whats the torque at 480 hp, it may be less since an rv doesn't need as much.
-
Im not sure on the TQ but mine is at 1650, and usually with higher HP you get higher TQ so I would say it would be 1650 or more...
-
Not all times would the torque be higher, eg marine applications
-
Well Im pretty sure that an RV and marine engine would not be the same.

I'm guessing that emissions has something to do with it also !

WOW! That sounds pretty exciting to me! The one thing I am concerned about is this engine has 43000 hrs on it, no work done n not using oil yet. If I was to start juicin it up then would this drastically shorten the life of it? Dude6710 - have you dyno'ed yers since the upgrade?
