I know you can buy the big ole disk with the metal retaining ring to install, but what I am looking for is one to bolt or weld to the top of my existing top plate. I have seen them before, but for the life of me I cannot find them using the google machine on the internet! Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

yeah I am looking for one like the new no lube fifth wheels come with but my jost fifth wheel can be rebuilt for $200 and I like it. Just tired of the mess with grease and have always had a problem with getting one of the big ole disk installed right.

You can get the two separate pieces of teflon and just bolt them on you dont have to get one disk it will work the same way as the trailer will just ride on the two separate halves its kind off out of the box thinking but just an idea i dont think they make what youre looking for jost fifth wheels

http://linersystems.com/final-lube.php I bought and installed this type and has held up for 2 years so far. The only thing you need to know is your kingpin depth so they can sell you the right plate.

Yep it is attached with counter sunk screws around the perimeter. All you have to supply is the tools and time for install. I installed mine in about a hour.

This had worked very well for me:

Place the disc and ring into position, take a generic king ping lock and place it on the pin. Then jack it into place with a bottle or floor jack using appropriate dunage.

Leave the metal lock ring taped to the disc. Put an oxygen or acetylene bottle cap under the disc. Drive it on with a sledge hammer. Requires a little coordination but not too bad.
