    Hello everyone

    Im looking at a T660 with a cat c15 and a 13spd "automatic"
    630k miles, going for $43.5k
Studio sleeper, full gauges, fridge, super singles

Can you all comment on what first steps I should be taking from here please. Ive been driving for 11 years pulling most of that time a skateboard so my experience is vast as a driver. I saved up enough to land a better truck but cant get better since I'm on my 3rd divorce and my credit is worst than a 2005 international..(drove one for 4 months and spent 2 more waiting on it while it was often at the shop)

I pray I can hit at least the 7mpg mark with this truck. Im going to have an APU installed as soon as I have enough $$$ ive planned to get a new account and maybe a dba as well (ive seen other o/o doing this to separate accounts and budgets)
My biggest concern is the engine. I drove a 2005 kw9 with cat c15 single turbo and boy was it a bad engine.. most of the time hit the 4.5mpg and it went to the shop several times for injector work and programming issues, over heating and 0 leaks.
I understand the 07+ engines (twin turbos) are dog-ed by most drivers, but since my credit is limited and I camt find a strong co-singer im forced to jump on this since I wont drive freightliner

    All comments welcome, God bless

You ready to spend $25,000 on repairs in your first year of operation?

    2008 C15 CAT?

    With DPF?

I would run away from it.

You have to remember. Engine model year runs one year older than Chassis model year. So a 2007 truck will have a 2006 engine. 2008 chassis, a 2007 engine.

You would be BEST to go with a pre-EPA04. These would be the 2004 and older model trucks. 2004 would be a bridge motor and you would have to really check to see if they have EGR or not.

EPA04 trucks These would be the 2005 to 2007 model truck. They will have the EGR's in them. Not as good, but definitely better than anything with a DPF in it.

EPA07 would be the 2008 to 2010 model trucks. These will have the EGR and the DPF in them. They can be a basket case. EGR and DPF are expensive to repair. The best thing is to simply NOT IDLE these trucks. It would require some sort of APU for heating and cooling. Either home-brewed or ready bought. These will have the worst of the fuel mileages.

EPA10 trucks will be 2011 models and newer. These will have EGR, DPF and DEF in them. The fuel mileage and performance will be markedly better. This is due to the timing being allowed back in after the addition of the DEF to control emission.

So best bet is basically not buy a truck?
I need to get into cali often, thats the reason why I need '08 or newer. As stated I cant afford to get anything newer than '08 due to financing
