Ok. Ive been trying to hunt this problem for a while. its a n14 celect with super 10. it sounds like a bearing is rattling somewhere. i started another post about maybe being a head bolt broken. that wasnt it tore it down checked them pulled middle head replaced gasket head checked out it needed an injector cup. ive been told that if an injector is actibg up it will cause the main gears to make a jingling sound i believe this is what it is. i have replaced tranny cuz it sounded like that was culprit and syncros were out in back box. loaded it will only make the sound on a pull. going up a grade or passing someone. empty it does it pretty much all the time except when there is no load on engine... coasting etc. truck egts run about 600 but cool very quickly mostly 3-400. after stopping pyro will be 300 i will get thermo gun out and check exhaust manifold. usulaay run 225-240 each cylinder except no.6 was running 184. can this much difference b normal or is no 6 my culprit?? im afraid to yank injector as the injector cup will start leaking so i want to b for sure before i pull it. no codes pop up and im told that it may pass a cut out test. can using a thermo gun be the best route . ive been in everything on the truck besides the engine. i did notice it has 4 reman injectors in it when i had other head off. it has 706000onthe clock.

If it were mine I would put a set of injectors in it I've seen issues with the o-rings on the injectors get damaged during install especially on #6 the driver thought the jakes were on it was just losing fuel pressure at high rpm and missing.is it louder while building air?the accessory drives can get extremely loud also might be worth checking the timing if someone resealed the cam followers and got the wrong gaskets it can cause all kinds of issues you should pull an oil sample and check whats i. It could have a spun cam bearing I've ran across a few m11 like this and only found it during teardown for an overhaul

that was my next move was to pull an oil sample. its loudest when u just start a hill. if you hold it in same gear and dont let off throttle it will quit after maybe 1/2 to 3/4 the way up grade. it will only quit loaded. empty it will rattle the whole way up grade. it only stops when u top the hill. or let off throttle. now it seams like it has a small hesitation while idling. i can see tach slightly jump. ive bought the truck and ran trouble free for a year now this problem has everyone stumped.

have truck at shop now still no word. failed 4 injectors thinking its harrness... have located the sound with brakes held in gear let out on clutch sound is coming from rear of engine. only will do this when warmcould it be in the clutch or flywheel? clutch was changed out had noise before and after. sounds like real bad rattle like somthing metal to metal loose. thanks in advance just wanting to know if these levals are ok. oil had bout 5000 miles on it. truck only gets bout 10000 miles a year

Is putting this much time into this truck worth the 10k miles a year it drives?

its a grain truck legally only allowed 7500 with farm limited plates. alot of it is from field to bins. then bins to grain elevators. have two other trucks that also do the same. too good of truck just to run it till it quits.

    dude6710 Thanks this.
