Hey guys I'm an owner op and recently I've noticed after I let my truck sit for a few hours and turn it on the low coolant light comes on after the coolant temp reaches 150..it's always just below the minimum and I top it off every so often, but I look under and around the truck but I see no leaking whatsoever!! I own a 2012 kenworth t660 studio sleeper if that helps, any info will be appreciated thx guys!
Low coolant level??

Mileage? Where do you run, how hard are you loaded? What kind of Transmission? Do you see any leaks that are around any of the components? We help if you tell us more about what you do.

Have the oil tested could be a small leak into the oil. Have the cooling system tested could be pushing the coolant out past a hose or something small. Could be the EGR system leaking it into the exhaust. Or could have just been an air bubble that's working it's way out. Get it now before it causes a real problem.

Could be the egr cooler going bad. I would rule out a leak as you don't see it or smell it. Get an oil sample done. Speed co can do it on site for $20. I would also get the system pressure tested

347k,otr I typically try to run under 30,000 lbs it's an 8 speed tranny no leaks or "splash" around anything and I don't smell any coolant

EGR cooler is most likely the issue. That's a good mileage range for the ones on a Cummins to start going bad if that's what engine you have.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. My experience with the new engines and white smoke, is only after a long period of idling and then when getting back under way. It'll clear out the exhaust then not smoke anymore after I few minutes/miles. Leaky EGR never caused white smoke on any of our trucks that I've noticed. The amount they leak internally is so minimal it shows no symptoms in my opinion other than low coolant, maybe a gallon a week when you start noticing it.
