I have one of our newer model 3406E that has a skip when accelerating and runs rich with blue smoke then clears up after high idle or flooring it while accelerating. The diesel that's in the truck is 4 years old. i'm wondering could it be something in the old fuel. Im changing the fuel filters in the morning . Could they be clogged ( injector and filter)? but would it cause that? I've seen a Detroit do it with a broken injector spring but it never would clear up. The truck is used maybe once a week for a wrecker so it hasn't burnt both tanks yet and i haven't added any treatment on the fuel it came with, It has 3/4 of fuel left in 2 150 gal tanks It has had an Out of frame rebuild and overhead ran at CAT with papers (375k miles ago) including a non wastegate turbo and injectors came with the out frame kit. The truck is working good as this problem only has happened twice but cleared right up. Just thought I would ask here. The warranty has expired over a year ago
