I noticed today that my coolant temp was doing some wired things. I usually watch my temp on my cat I D. I can be pulling a hill loaded or empty and see the coolant temp raise to about 190*f and as I hit flat ground the temp will go down to about 181*f. This seems all good, but what I find weird is that when going down hill and just basically coasting the temp will drop to 176*f. On occasion it will go as low as 172*f. After you get to the bottom and give it power the temp will rise up fairly quick to about that 179 to 180 range. At idle well I am loading the temp will bounce between 177*f and 183*f. Maybe I am worrying about nothing but it seems to me that I don't remember such a drop in temp on the down hill before today. Is it possible that maybe one stat is sticking open or is this just something that I haven't caught before today? Oh ya ambiant temp was 28*f and little or no wind.
