Has anyone ever called one of those glass shops where they will come to your house and replace a windshield, for a big truck? What did it cost you? The last time I had mine replaced I had it done at KW they were having a "special". I think it cost around $250 glass, seal, labor, tax and all. I'd just rather take my business elsewhere.

That's about what it will cost you with the roadside ones too. I priced it out and mine was $250 for both sides, no seal. I ended up calling my physical damage provider and had it done for free, but they still utilized the roadside guys. FL requires insurance companies to replace windshields for free.

Safelite quoted me around $215.00 back in Jan. to replace the passenger side on my 03.

If you get up around Joplin there are a couple of guys who works out of their pick ups. I watched the one do a Pete and he did it the same way Ptb. did my 389. They get the glass from the local truck dealers. Seems to me they both worked for safelite at one time. Way cheaper than Ftlr. on my current truck.

I second this. They will come to the J and replace it for you. Much cheaper, I think ours was $189 for the drivers side.

I know the T660s are real easy to replace... a plastic windshield tool ($5), a locking strip tool (think mine cost me $15 or so), and a bottle/can of glass cleaner is all you need. Takes about 20 minutes to do a side. I believe the other KW models with the split windshields are similar, although I'm not 100% certain.

That got me to thinking that maybe they didn't replace the seal. Really I don't know. Thought that was just part of doing the job. It did leak for a while in one spot but I never took it back.

I saw safelite commercial over the weekend and googled windshield replacement. Just wondered if anyone had ever used them or others. Seems like $250 give or take is about what it costs.

My windshield is one piece curved. If it was 2 piece flat I might try DIY but for $250 I'll pay someobody else to do it.

Safelight was $40 more expensive than another local shop. Here in orlando, there are tons of places to go. The risk vs reward just isn't there to do it yourself
