I got a Columbia with detriot seriers 60 . It has inframe done on it 13,000 miles ago with new turbo and head . Sometimes it well start losing power when I'm trying to accelerate 9th or 10th gear and it would throw lot of black smoke out of exhaust , for about 5 to 10 seconds . Then it starts running normal again. It does that occasionally .

Does it mean my motor is breaking in to ?
    bad turbo maybe ?
other than that it's running really good , good power .

I'm having pretty much the exact same problem. About 30,000 miles ago...the EGR and DPF were deleted (Canada). Shortly after that, an inframe, bigger turbo, and new ecm. About 15000 miles ago, it started the sputtering when accelerating through the middle gears followed by black smoke out the stack and then its fine. It doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes it will go a few days without doing it. Its weird. Runs good otherwise...except a bit of a rough idle until you bump it up to about 8-900 RPM. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It could be your EGR , but not sure . Make sure your fuel filter is in good condition , that your fuel system is working correctly . That could slove your problem .

I noticed a bunch of bubbles in my Davco filter housing. Maybe that's the culprit. I'll investigate some more.
