Hello everyone I am seeing very light white smoke from my exhaust on my ddec 4 430/470 and I was wondering what could be the cause? Is it a bad injector or orings or something else. It does it idling also after coming to stop after getting of the highway . It's a little slow picking speed but doesn't seem to miss. Can it be the overhead out of adjustment. I need to some help if anybody has experienced this. I just came out of the truckstop and I let it idle. I then got on the interstate and a lot of white smoke and smelled like burning oil could the turbo be bad?

Take a flashlight and look into the fuel tank you can see the fuel returning, look for bubbles. white smoke on a cold engine is low compression. On a hot engine it is oil you want to remove the exhaust outlet on the turbo and with a mirror look at the turbo tips for damage. if there is damage then the problem is internal. If it is oily and when you turn the turbine with lateral preasure there is squeaking the turbo is junk. If you remove the turbo and there is oil in the manifold then the problem is farther up. Usually internal.
    Just a thought!

I'm thinking turbo is bad because I heard it squealing a few weeks ago . What's a good replacement for my 12.7 ddec4?

Make a sniff test. Hold hand over exhaust and see if it smells like coolant, fuel, or just exhaust.
