This is the 2nd time we've run into this particular problem.

These pics are on steers still inflated. I was almost scared to get close to take picture.

Fairly new tires build date 3012 Plant n9bw.

We installed brand new Michelin XZA3 for this fellow and he was going to take the Goodyears back to get some credit or something.

I wonder with all the crashes, if these particular tires have played a role in causing them. Very dangerous situation to be in.

Is this problem from the same truck, or just same model tire from different trucks? Sure looks like a bad tire, side wall separation.

I had four new Chinese 17.5 trailer tires put on several years ago (my local shop talked me into it)
we traveled approximately 300 miles on an 80-84 degree day, (trailer was loaded 22k) and when I stopped to check the load I noticed the tires had similar "cracks" around the radius (Tires were set to 105-110 psi) We immediately went to a nearby Kal tire and had new Bridgestone's put on, we kept the Chinese crap returned it to my home dealer and they refunded our money. My lesson learned: no more Chinese crap regardless of position. I always though Good Year made decent rubber, maybe a bad batch???

I hate to say it, but Goodyear is suspect to me anymore. Can't recommend them.

I put a set of Chinese tires on that did that so much for saving money hope that was a bad tire and not a new trend

Typically I only see this on old, dated tires. Maybe the tires were over loaded or under inflated? Who knows. An engineer would be able to figure it out.

Possibly bad batch, but boy oh boy, not on what people typically use on steers. Guy came all the way from okc and was excited to get his michelins and was like man, what if I would had a blowout on the way to Suwanee,ga. Something to think about.

Please check your tires if you have good.years

I can't recommend kellys or dunlops for that matter. We run a recap system and they have the highest blowout percentage. Using Mich/bridge/ Firestone no problems. Hell, we've even capped some ling long and had better results than Goodyear.

this truck runs flatbed and owner operator always kept tires in good shape. Never minds spending the money to be compliant and safe, but these tires are far from safe.
