I have a Cummin's, but mine went bad while I was starting truck. Motor started but cel and sel came on so I shut motor off. Read codes. Tried to start and motor would crank but not start. I was jump starting. I was told the ECM had a power surge while starting.
Is your ECM bad or did you just lose power to it. -
ECM. has a small batt. built into it, if it goes bad truck will not run, 1st be sure truck is powering the ecm with key on?

Same happened to me. There is a fuse right at your batteries that runs to ecm. Check the fuse and make sure it's clean..... there's a few of em so check em all.
