I am looking at getting a Pete or Freightliner cabover, so I can put a large sleeper to make into an RV. But I would like to know how to seal between the cab and the sleeper. Since the cab will tilt forward for maintenance, I need a weather seal that seals in bad weather. How have people done this in cabovers? What is the best way to seal it when it is sitting or better yet, driving the OPEN HIGHWAY??
Thanks

Inflatable bladder seal...

This is a tricky one...ya might get some good ideas by calling 4 state trucks n running it by them. They are pretty innovative guys there!

This has been done before, but frankly I don't know if anyone still has the molded parts to do it. A friend of mine had it done in 1990 by Double Eagle in Indiana, now out of business. Check with any of the custom sleeper outfits, they would be able to say yes or no.

buy an rv no seal to bother with.
Sounds like an interesting project. Let us know how it goes. With pictures. Good luck. -
really it is not easy deal. cab is air bag suspended and it rocks when truck runs.
I saw 2005 MB Actros with big sleeper moundted on frame (it was horse mover). They used insolator like railway car to car insolator made of thil foam rubber battons. aniway some water leaks a bit whent it is raning.
IMO, non integral sleeper would be better. -
