We have a 2010 Freightliner Cascadia and we cannot figure out how to disable the horn. (Not the airhorn). Any help would me appreciated. Our dog is honking while we are inside and it's starting to piss off other drivers.

Be careful, if you get a dot inspection he will ask you to honk both. At least thats what was done to me. Maybe pull the fuse when you are out or put it on a switch?

Any idea how to put it on a switch?

Build a cap to cover the horn or paddle the dog 🐶 every time they do it. Theyll learn not to do it.

Dot horn requirement is either air or electric need to operate. Not both. Also you have a couple wires coming out of your steering column that control the horn. If you don't want to find those wires do like Skate-board says. Or get one of those steering wheel desks that hook on wheel and cover the surface. Your dog would not have access to your horn button. Good luck
semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
Then why on an inspection do they always check to make sure both the city and air horn are operable? If you only need one or the other?

usually bad clocspring... to change it u have to remove steering wheel, but if your truck has ESP clockspring is combined with steering wheel angle sensor and u have to fit it in correct position (put steering wheel straingh forward before u do this stuff and fit it back in the same position)
Check brake system configuration before u order part. Steering wheel sensor is expencive. -

Pablo, he doesn't have ESP, he has a DOG There's nothing wrong with his horn, it's his dog pushing the button. Relocate the horn on the dash facing the steering wheel. It'll only take a day or 2 before the dog will refuse to touch the steering wheel, then you can put it back.
