im pretty sure that you will NOT get a key for cat software, the opinons you can get help with for sure. from what i have read(dont know if its true) cat is NOT giving licneses out unlesss you are a cat shop

 

What kind of comments are you looking for? There is no such thing as a Cat III ET. If you're asking for a license key for ET, you're wont get it here. There is no chance of Cat giving or selling you ET for 4 trucks. What you have is 4 trucks that have engines no longer in production, Cat will make a lot more money forcing you to go to their dealers for repairs. Your only legal option to get diagnostic software is the aftermarket, which will not do everything ET does.

 

Cat ET needs a license key to work, but Cat wont sell it to you. OEM software is better in most applications, Cat is no different, but they're greedy and wont sell it to you. You're only option is the aftermarket. There are some factory diagnostic tests that Cat will not allow anyone else to do. Cat ET is the only one that will allow you to change injector trim files, so your stuck going to Cat to progam new injectors (this may have changed, I'm not sure).

Tell them what you want, and they'll be straight with you whether or not you'll be happy with their product. I have yet to see any handheld system compare to good software and decent handheld units like the Nexiq IQ are much more expensive.

I did not buy PF Diagnose, I looked into a few years ago when Cat was refusing to sell us ET, but our Pete dealer got involved and made it happen. Out of all the options I looked at, it was the best and cheapest.

Legally? I'd be interested in buying it, but it has to be 100% legit. Keygens are easy to get, but I don't want illegal software.

 

Are you refering to a Cat Comm II and/or III adapters ? You can buy those on Ebay or amazon. I picked one up a used Cat Comm II adapter for $305.00 on Ebay. If your looking for the Cat E.T., you can search craigslist and might be able to pick up a laptop with the programs for ALL engines for a good amount of change BUT "BUYER BE WARE", or, you can download ANY program, flash files yourself even the keygens and licences to operate them on a certain website.
