I was reading here yesterday how tire service typically runs around $4k yearly or $0.03 per mile average.
Was also reading about items getting stuck between the duals. Wondering if some of the long-term drivers
and owner-operators here might give me some idea of best and worst case scenario$ for tire service,
being towed and roadside repaired. What's typical invoice$? and I'm familiar with tearing tires when hitting the
curb (drain culverts).
Thanks in Advance,

Best case scenario : you go half a millon miles trouble free and it's costs you a penny or two a mile..worst case scenario : you install new tires and get in a high speed cop chase and you get your tires shot out costing thousands per mile .. Buy quality tires and monitor air pressure is what works for most people

I put on a set of Bridgestone m726el on my last truck. They cost $4800. When I traded the truck 2 years later they still had over 50% life left. So, assuming 2 more years, that's $.01/mi figuring on 120,000 mi/yr. well looked after tires will last quite a while.

Bought junky recaps, shoulda paid more $$ for better quality. Blew one out and paid $480 for a roadside and a junk retread. I will buy 8 virgins in the spring and drive on.

Thanks everyone. I used to mechanic back in my 20s (10 years), mostly GM repos, no heavy stuff, and so this is all very interesting to me.

Bought a hankook tire made in "China" , did't last more than a month, or "9000 miles"
dealer refused to honor the warranty saying its road conditions causes
adding salt to injuries, had to take off tires, rent a pick up,go to dealer, sent me to inspection place" another dealer" ..and nothin but adding extra burdens
