There was some posts from a member Far Call on here a while back. He did alot of work with injector trim codes. Testing flow of each. I took his information and made a spreadsheet. We all know were are not supposed to run straight 5232, 6999, or the like...due to the fact that no two injectors were created equal. Even a new set from CAT will be off from one another. Hence the need for trim codes. I use this chart to get my trims as high as I can and keep the cylinders within spec. I start with 5232's all the way across. Then do a manual cutout test at 1200rpm or where ever you feel the engine the roughest. If you start at idle and hold the steering wheel you feel the harmonics coming through the wheel. Where that is the worst I will set my cruise there. Normally around 1200rpm. I then cutout each cylinder and see the real time result. It will not hold steady...but normally between .02-.04. You can kind of see a number that shows up the best as they go up and down. Remember this number and go through the rest. If the number is high...use the the chart and find numbers with lower flows...if number is low...and its already at 5232 you have to bring the others down to that lowest one because you can't go any higher. Even 6999 won't go any higher in the cutout test...yes it flows more and people say they get 10 more hp over 5232, but on a cutout 5232 will be stronger than 6999. Just my experience. By doing this you can safely use the higher numbers and keep the engine safe and smooth. If you have any questions please ask.

I know this is for older engines, but we have alot of them and this works really well. If you know Far Call tell him thanks for all his work!

    The file is a PDF.

Thanks for putting that together. I noticed that you have code 9969 listed twice with two different flow numbers. Is that a typo?

Thank you. I saw that also. I think it might have been. There are two different flows with them. I did this up a year or so ago. I tried both of them today and didn't see much difference. I think the lower of the two 9969's is the correct one. It could also had been a typo from the information I gathered. I have used this many times though and you can get an engine extremely smooth...even if you are not after power...as an injector ages and gets a little weak. You can use this to keep the engine smooth until you get the chunk to get another injector.

Save away, give it away...whatever. That's why I posted it. Helped me out a lot on a bunch of E models. Especially ones that are just little rough.

Thank you scrapper. I just overhauled my 6ts and now I'm going to go through and set it to the highest codes and Ballance it out then probably going to do a fuel temp resistor and an extra fuel cooler above and beyond the stock one that is in the return to the tank. I think im going to plumb the new one into the inlet somewhere between the tank and the pump.
