I have a tridem end dump pulled with 07 pete 379.. I have been getting some erratic trailer braking and flat spotting on inside of a couple tires on the trailer.. When investigating I noticed after city stop and go traffic my trailer brakes are really hot and my truck brakes are barely warm. Is it normal for the trailer to do most of the braking? When braking it feels like as soon as I touch the brake it puts all the air to the trailer, really hard to make a smooth stop.

there are LSV valves on newer trucktors-trailers. If trailer is empty - low pressure in air bags and low brake pressure. More load - more brake pressure
but some trailers got no LSV and overbrake usuallyChevyho Thanks this. -
Google- Phillips quick release Gladhand valve options. You have to reduce the lag time of air release on trailer braking, especially in city driving.

I think installing and ajusting LSV solves the problem

Ive started searching for a lsv, i think that will be the way to go. If anyone has a link to one please share, I am assuming it just runs off bag pressure.

if you dont already like ben jammin suggested install some inline quick release valves (bendix pn is 800333)which will help the relase of the trailer brakes and reduce the time it takes for them to release. if youre concerned about pressures put a gauge on your blue glad hand and see if you are getting the same pressure there as one of your brake chambers on the tractor.

Thanks, do the valves install at the glad hands? Put one on service and emergency?
