is there a big difference between 3.36 and 3.55's
-
honestly, I haven't been driving long enough to answer that question I haven't driven a lot of different trucks . I was hoping y'all w more experience would help me.
-
theirs a noticeable difference between the two. both are pretty low gears. without accually calculating it i would say roughtly 150 rpm difference higher rpm with 4.10's over 3.90's for the same speed/gear selection
-
Thx for the input. -
What will you be hauling with it? We run alot of 3.90's and they are borderline too low. Especially on the Indian Nation Turnpike. We run 80-100,000 most every run, utility poles.
It would also depend on the engine, tranny combo in the truck. -
.95 x rpm with 3.90 gears extra. Like Ezrider said + 150 rpm's if you run at 1500 rpm's so with 4.10 at same mph would be 1650 rpm's
-
Noone mentioned the biggest part. Are the tire sizes the same? 4:11 on 24.5 rubber will turn the exact same rpm as 3:90 on 22.5 rubber.

Don't forget the torque curve of engine and ratio of trans. gears.

Beebergary is right. Transmissions have many different final ratios. Check the transmission codes and use a road speed calculator. A 4.10 axle can have the same running rpm as a 3.42 if the transmission are different
