Cummins CM2250 turbo chuffing?

We have a Cummins CM2250 with 452,000 miles on it. We just had the truck in the shop and had the doser injector and NOX sensor replaced. After it came back from the shop the driver noticed that it sounded like the turbo was "huffing" occasionally at idle and that the rpms may rise about 100 rpm when it occurs. It was not doing it before the truck went into the shop. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be or what to check? I'm hoping we don't have to replace the turbo.
