I have been getting a weird check engine light that flashes on and off when the boost pressure is between 30 and 35 psi. the truck feels like is surging everytime the check engine light goes on. but it dosent do it all the time. the engine is I assume a stock MBN with the 525 uprate. im not sure if anything else has been done because I am the new owner of the rig. I have always heard that the MBN wont even go above 30 PSi boost, is that correct? thanks,

Any codes stored? Could be over boost or not enough oil pressure or coolant not full ect.

You want to have the CAC tested and have them put the test plug in the right side first to check the complete system, intake manifold, the piping, and the boost sensor. Then test the CAC, and the turbo turbine tips for damage. If the code flashes it could very well be the coolant level, or they may have to drive it with a laptop connected to get the code, they may need a data logger to get it.

I did check the charge air cooler and it did have some cracks where the tubes meet the tanks so I replaced it with a dura lite evolution series cac. I will double check the piping and make sure there is no leaks there. I will look at the turbine tips. Thank you!

Mbn will derate somewhere around 35 psi if I remember correctly ... Some people disconnected waste gate and it would boost too high and derate ... I've seen a few guys with hotter mbn's put a air regulator like found on a air compressor between manifold and boost sensor then set it around 30 psi to prevent derate

Sorry off topic op never had that problem before. But magoo why would they go to the trouble? All they have to do is re-flash ecm with a better CAT file then block the waste gate line off. Then it'll boost 40-45 psi no problem. Or as long as the original turbo lasts anyways. It's on borrowed time at that point anyways and needs upgrading.

You might just have a hole in the waste gate hose on the turbo. Anyhow just my.02
