Good morning everyone. I have an issue with the Kenworth T800 that is in my profile picture.

When the truck is not attached to a trailer and you stand behind the center of each drive axle side and look down and towards the sleeper cab, the axles are not aligned straight. Further example. If you look at where the dual wheels bolt up and eyeball that with the forward drive axle, you will notice that either the front axle or rear rear axle is offset by as much as a couple inches. It almost looks like the center of the rear rear axle where the wheels come together are even with the outside of the front tire. What could be causing this?

Take it in to get an alignment. A good alignment shop will tell you what it needs and make the required ajustments nessasary.
Without looking at it or knowing even what brand of suspention you have we are all just guessing here.

I do a laser alignment from a mobile guy in Salt Lake. He was stumped when I showed him! Could the torsion bars be bad? I'm scratching my head on this one!

Not really there are at least 2 kinds of 8 bag suspension. For what it's worth just cause a guy has a laser machine doesn't mean he has a clue. Find another alignment shop that's where you will find your answer. You have worn or bent parts or bushings, most likely bushings if it seems worse at times after turns.

If it's 8 bag. The torque arms on top of rearend housings are what keep the axles in line.

My Guess would be you something going on there. Depending on the year of your truck, some models have an aluminum spacer between the torque arm and frame that gets corroded over time and crumbles falls out. Or if it's always been like this, not knowing the history of truck. Could even be someone replaced one them torque arms with one that's wrong length.
I would look in that area.

Are both track rods the same length and have the same mounting? Possible that a wrong one was put one at some point. Was a rear housing ever changed? New housings do not come with the track rod bracket welded on, so it's possible that it was welded on the wrong place.

    Heavyd Thanks this.
