I have a issue with my 2000 eclectic in a volvo. The fuEl solenoid loses powere or ecm says low voltage to solenoid. Replaced it. And it ran great all week except for a miss fire as I'll explain in a few. Well driver said truck done good all week till we washed it. It died 3 or 4 times. We already had a jumper wire on solenoid on a toggle. Flip it on and it cranks right up. Ran till engine got warm flipped switch off and runs fine . Till the rain today and it won't run unless you have hot wire switch on. OK back to the miss fire it goes and comes and seems like it's not there at higher rpm. Only loaded you will notice this. Also if you hold it on the floor it will only turn 1400 as if it should but if you wait a few seconds it will start jumping then after a few jumps in rpm bam it tacks out. As it shouldn't setting still. I haven't drove it in few months but I did yesterday to see if I could tell what's going on. It's not putting out 3/4 power if that. But I say alot of that has to do with miss. I would appreciate any input. Thx

To me it sounds like your ecm power supply is not making a solid connection. The truck would behave badly off & on radically. Check the power supply cables & fuses for wear, corrosion & build up. Mine were located in the battery box of my 99 379 Pete n14.

What purple pete said, plus you probably have a fused ground at the ECM. Should be on right side of ECM when facing it,check it for blown fuse, corrosion.

Ok Thank you I had this issue sorta with the other truck That it would just die and i replaced computer and harness to fix it $$$ . But it was blowing fuse on battery. (dead short) But it never missed it would just die. I have had 3 mechanics look at it. If tracing the hot and ground down dont fix it. Wonder if i should just take it to volvo. The down time at local shops are killing me.

You should have a little extra wire in battery box,I would just cut off old connector and redo. that way you know it's good. With fuel selinoid would replace whole wire. Eliminate all the simple things before going to dealer. Also have you cleaned the check valve and screen.

I had a heavy battery cable corroded clean through that was tucked in behind my battery box, that was my issue.
The truck would run fine, but miss occasionally.
Most mechanics are to busy to find an erratic on & off issue. They do know what to look for and take a bigger budget approach. You yourself might be able to fix it much cheaper.

I called The last mechanic i used he said thats the first thing. They checked was the hots and grounds. Only reason i asked about dealer is because they may have had the same issue before. I dont know but i think ill go to mechanic when it comes in and Run water over real easy till we can find it cause that cuts it right off?

If the cooler is clogged that could be your 3/4 power problem. Need to have fuel pressure checked, when was last time cam sensor replaced? Did you unhook factory wire at selinoid, when you ran the other hot wire.

Have you pulled apart and visually inspected the ECM harness? They can rub through themselves and don't like water once they have some missing insulation.
