    Greetings All,

I am purchasing a 2007 truck that is currently equipped with a CCS APU. Google has turned up some info:

Flying J Enterprise Solutions said it released its new Cab Comfort System (CCS), a fully integrated high-end auxiliary power unit, to help truck fleets reduce engine idling and unnecessary emissions while providing the driver in-cab comfort and convenience while on the road.
The CCS is available from Flying J and affiliate locations. The standard system features the Kubota Z482 liquid-cooled engine that powers a direct drive 6kW 115VAC generator, the company said. Included are in-cab and outside GFCI receptacles, electrically powered battery charging, programmable in-cab controller with maintenance reminders, automatic start control in economy mode for cab temperature, battery voltage and coolant temperature for more fuel savings.
Additional optional equipment includes high-output air conditioning, keyless remote start, high output battery charger and shore power load management, the company said.
“As you set the fully programmable in-cab illuminated keypad control, you will notice immediate comfort and convenience from low operating noise and no cab vibration with full use of in-cab and out-of-cab appliances and tools,” says Bruce Davis, market development director for Flying J Enterprise Solutions.
    For more information, visit www.fjesolutions.com."

The above info is from this page: http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=42616649

The web site link is DOA as is the phone number in the article. There is no indication as to when that article was written or posted. I called my local Flying J and got the phone # for their corporate offices. After talking to no less than 10 people in 8 or 9 different departments about I have been able to learn that in 2009 Pilot bought out Flying J and that this APU system had already been shelved prior to that. Most of the people I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about. I do have 1 person in the company that has made several calls to people he believed were in the company in 2007 (Or there about) and might have some info about the system. There are no remaining owners manuals or maintenance manuals and if there are, nobody knows where they might be.

    So my questions are:

Does anybody out there have one of these units or know of anybody that does?

Does anybody out there happen to have an owners and or service manual? If you do have the books and no longer need them I'll purchase them from you. If you have them and still need them I'll pay to have copies made if your willing to let me use them and send them back to you, (Of course, I'll pay shipping both ways).

    Thanks in advance!!

Do you need something worked on? Sounds close to a Rigmaster. I wouldn't be surprised if a Rigmaster dealer could replace parts with theirs including electronic controls

Donno exactly what I need yet... The unit (Along with the rest of the truck) has not run in a few months. At a minimum I would like to get the owners manual to be able to learn about all the different settings and how to best use them.

It sounds like this unit is of the design where it is basically a generator that then runs a separate but attached electrically powered unit that provides environmental cooling and heating. I do know there is a fairly large inverter/converter in the truck. Donno if it is part of the system or an add on somebody attached to it.

That's why I wold really like to find some paperwork/books for this thing. I know they made more than just one of these. Somebody out there must have some info....

Wow... just wow.... It did take some work but with this info I was in fact able to find and download both a parts and shop manual from Hiller Truck! I also found that they have a location at a Flying J but they are not exactly in my area, or even my country for that matter...LOL. They are located in Canada.

I found a facebook page of theirs and found this post there:

"If you currently have a CCS APU, and you are in need of some parts to keep it going, we will probably have what you need. Even if it's a rusted out cover, broken frame, Engine or Generator, we should have it. Many parts are brand new! Call us at 1 866 669 2341 or stop by, we are at the flying J Truck stop, exit 268 on 401"

I also google searched "CCS APU Hiller" and found a page that has the CCS parts manual and one that has the CCS shop manual. (Links below).

I called the # from the facebook page and talked to a very nice guy named Peter. I have downloaded both the above manuals but I was hoping to get an owners manual. He told me to get him the unit serial number and he would see if he could locate the correct owners manual for that unit for me. How cool is that?? I'll be going to look at the truck tomorrow and will see if I can find the # he needs. I guess the best thing is that they have lots of parts for the unit and have no issue shipping to Florida. I'm guessing that if I get in a bind they might be able to offer some limited over the phone tech support, especially if it results in parts sales...lol.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank those that helped me with this search and let you all know what I found in case it helps you or others you know.

Thanks again to all, drive safe, be well....
