Hey guys, in my 2006 volvo I have a rtlo16918b (I believe) and when I'm at highway speed and at steady throttle (usually on cruise, not applying throttle or letting off but just steady) it will start to vibrate and groan/growl very loudly. If I let off or apply throttle it stops.
Once I go back to even throttle it will start growling again, it does not do it all of the time at the exact same speed but very often. Usually between 100km and 105 km. Slowing to 95km it usually doesn't and if it does it isn't as violent.
My transmission grinds when splitting from low to high as well. When I lift my range selector I can hear the air enguage very weak and slow so I am going to test the air pressure at the transmission as I'm sure they have a regulator but I can only assume it's too late and my aux needs rebuilding but with the growl the tranny has I am wondering if maybe I'm just gonna be buying a reman tranny.
Additional info, clutch needs replacing as it is pretty worn out and before yall yell at me about improper maintenance, I bought the truck with these problems knowing darn well I would have to address them but it was too good a deal to pass up.
Thanks in advance for the help.

eh, try some grease on your drive shaft...perhaps, you may notice an inexpensive difference. (always try the least expensive options first.)

Trucks greased front to back once a week. I work oilfield so the grease gets beat out often.

Have air ride height checked
baha Thanks this. -
Yeah check your ride height.

Sounds like ride height problem but it may be too late now if it grinds when you range shift.
