I noticed my primer plunger on my C15 was sticking out. Almost looks like the threads to "lock" it down have worn out and it pops back up after driving for a while. Is this a quick easy replacement? I only see two bolts that hold it down to the filter housing. Is it just a remove the 2 bolts, slap the new one on, give it a few pumps, crank it up and go? Looks like someone has taken it off before.

I just bungeed it down for now... ok to run like that till next time I swing through the house?

I've never messed with mine....That piece obviously has been replaced, and your "fix" looks good to me. If it's not leaking fuel or sucking air I leave it till you get home.

P.S. I would guess there's a gasket under it. And the plunger is at least $100 bucks at cat.

I think the very first thing you should do is delete that turdblo 3000 in the fuel line.

Does it affect anything negatively? Previous owner put it on the truck. I know they are a gimmick and don't do a thing, but does it actually hurt anything to leave it in place?

I think I saw a link to that video but it was no longer available. I found a thread that mentioned it here on the forum, part number 6N-4414 I believe. How do you prime after changing the fuel filter then? Remove the plate, fill it with fuel, then just crank a bit until it fires? Looks like the primer pumps are notorious for sucking air anyway, so maybe I'm just best off replacing it with that plate for now until I can get a FASS setup.

I guess I'll keep the plunger around and throw it in the side box just in case I have a need to prime in the future and I can swap it out. Looks like the price for that plate is <$15 so I'll just grab one of those from Gregory Poole next time I'm at home. Thanks.

When I change my filters I pump them full from the tank. No debris in my fuel supply line to my head. I also never have to crank longer than any normal start up after filter change. I would always put a hand primer on if possible. If you dont have a fuel pressure gauge, you can tell if your getting pressure if you cant push the plunger in when cranking. Then can tell if it keeps pressure after you stop cranking it. It is one more tool to assist in keeping your engine and fuel system healthy.
