My brother and I got the SCR off our cummins and took it to the dealer to replace it because we checked it after changing the DPF which was cracked and found out that the code for a blocked DPF couldn't be reset. Also the laptop was telling us that the temperature on the input side of it was hotter than the stack side. They wanted about 3400.00 for a new one and a 3 week wait. Wow we just spent 4100.00 on a new dpf because it was cracked and the dealer couldn't clean it for us . He also said the crack couldn't be fixed. Now we gotta wait till he gets one in three weeks what am I supposed to do park my truck for another three weeks? Well we got on the internet and found a company near us that cleans DPF and catalysts for just about anything they say and dropped off the SCR for them to rebuild it. Seems they take it apart and clean the filter parts inside. They showed us how to check it with a piece of steel wire. They said it was clogged with the DEF fluid and they rebuild them all the time. He had a couple or three they were doing when we were there but from what we saw they had mostly the DPF and the cat sections around the shop being cleaned at different areas. If you take the wire and try to push it through the small holes in the catalyst inside the stack side of the exhaust the wire only goes in about an inch or so and thats the clog. Ok so we left the SCR there and and came back 3 days later and checked out what was going on. The SCR was clean and he gave us a sheet that showed what was wrong. First there was no flow through the filter on the flowbench . Second the filter had soot in it from the cracked DPF and that plugged it too. We took the wire he showed us and this time it went clear through the filter to the other side. When we were there he put the filter up on the flow bench and we saw the gauge working but the real thing was when you put your hand near the open side of the filter you feel the air being sucked through like a giant vacuum cleaner. WOW ! The air wasn't being sucked through like that when we dropped it off. Anyway were happy , trucks happy and we saved some money and time. So if you have a need for this they are in Connecticut and like I said we dropped it off and checked them out. dpfregeneration.com is how we found them.

Wow. Just looking at a local parts supplier's sales mag that was waiting when I got home. New ISX DPF filter for $1835. New ISX SCR catalysts for $2150. Reconditioned versions starting at $1250. Don't have a need for any of this stuff. Just saw them in the magazine before noticing your post.

Wow prices seem good but are they new cummins we tried a copy and sent it back because the metal ring that lines the cat and dpf up just didnt fit, Manufacturer told us we were doing something wrong (what else would they say) but believe me we didn't want to pay the cummins price but ended up that way. Hey do you mind sending me a reply as to who is selling a reman scr ? I am sure its gonna happen to us again or someone I know. We tow for alot of fleets so any help would be really a friendly thing to do. Good luck out there. Did you see that snow yesterday man what a mess.
