Cummins ism jake brake install

u need to install jakes, wire solenoid, reprogram ECM.

Not sure about USA, but in Europe jakes must work in combination with exaust flap (to reduce noise, becoue in EU weed burner exaust is widly used).

 

You have to remove the rocker arm bolts and change them from memory to install the Jake bridges you have to position them properly. Then comes the real fun part you have to tighten down the rocker arm bolts and get .022 gap between the pedestal mounts and the rocker arms. That is very critical. It is such fun as you will find. Then there is the oil line feed to the Jake housing. The wiring I am not sure of every M11 in our area has jakes.

You will need to install the Exhaust Valve bridges with the actuator pins and the Injector rocker adjustment screws, this can be done without removing the rocker shaft assembles so no worries about the .022 rocker side gap, just back the exhaust rocker screw out holding and removing the push tube, flip the rocker up and install the Jake bridge ,note location of PINS, install push tube ,You will have to do this in a overhead set sequence ABC=153,ABC=624. Set each cylinder as you go, .014 intake/ .027 exhaust/ bottom out injector 3 times then back out 2 flats of the screw. Install Jake riser housing with oil past through connector and line. Install Jake housings with jumper tube between them . Connect oil line to housing and plug the wire harness into Triangle 3 pin connecter part off injector harness. Set Jake piston lash as per spec on Jake housing data tag . Set in valve set sequence. . Install oil line between Jake riser housing and rear of oil filter housing , note old engine location. Using Cummins Insite software enable engine brake. Install valve cover ,,, have fun just finished doing 7 units.
