Lone Star Repair Service out of Stamford, CT - the worst repair shop on east cost.
One of my fuel lines and air lines broke on my truck, it was the closes repair shop, les then a mile away, I thought I got lucky to brake down so close. How naïve I was...
They wanted over $700 to tow truck and trailer to their shop! 800 feet!! They said they have too many road calls ,that's why the price is so high. Took me at least 5 calls and almost 30 min to talk them down to $500. After they towed it, I was told I`ll be out in 2-3 hours the same day. Of course it didn't happens, they said they have to wait for the snow under truck to melt. I went to motel, came back next day at 11 am - they haven't started to work on the truck, but said it will be fixed soon. Long story short - after 2 days they told me I need all 3 new air tanks, which was bs, cause they were replaced les then a year ago. They sent me the picture of the hole in one of the tanks, which Im %99 sure wasn't there. They didn't even let me to see it, saying customers are not allowed in the service area. I wanted to tow the truck to another shop, but they wanted almost $2000 to release it because they spent 2 days looking for an air leak plus towing. I decided to fix it there. Long story short - after 5 days, they fixed 1 fuel line, 1 air line and replaced 1 air tank. I checked with my mechanics and 2 different shops - they said its shouldn't be more then 5-6 hours total in labor. Guess how much Lone Star Repair Service charged me - almost $3500!!!! I was really frustrated, tried to talk some sense to them - no luck. Also, guess what they told me after I spend an hour arguing with them - they do not accept debit or credit cards, com check only. I had to call my carrier and beg them to give me such big cash advance in comcheck. I`m going to sue Lone Star Repair Service, they charged me at least 2 times more the they were suppose to.
Also, they are extremely rude on the phone, like they doing you a favor by fixing your truck. After I checked their google reviews I understood why people even went there in the first place. They had a lot of 1 star bad reviews, but even more excellent 5 stars. not 2 or 3 stars - only 1 or 5 stars and all 5 star reviews look the same, like they were left by the same person.
Id not recommend any using that shop.

Road service repair??? ... Yikes 🐍🐍 this must be one of the many pleasures of being an O/O....I've seen some pretty expensive road calls myself, bottom line is they have you with your pants down and they do know it.... Yes it's a shame but I'm sure they could care less, that's just what we have become in this day & age.... Hears the kicker, did you agree to this price or did they spring it on you? , this will determine if you have a case or not, they have to have your agreement before doing the work on your equipment..... Better luck next time brother AJ😎👍

Their strategy is never tell the price upfront, they always say "we need to look first"
Then they take their time and just wait 2 days before telling you whats the issue is. By that time you already owe them over $1000 for "diagnostics". -
I had a similar experience with a shop out of Mobile , Al when my truck broke down last year.....It needed to be towed and the shop said they could do the work....My truck was there for 10 days and they only conncected 3 wires together.....
I ended up taking the truck to Freightliner dealer which was across the interstate from the repair shop, Which by the way I should have took it to in the first place, but lesson learned....
The small shop charged me $800 for towing and $4200 dollars for labor to connect the three wires and would not release the truck until it was paid by comcheckLast edited: Feb 5, 2015

I've been taken like that before. That's why I now carry 3 milk crates full of doodads. I'll jerry rig it back together if I have to. Two nights ago a deer went under my trailer and snapped both airlines off a brake chamber in the middle of BFNebraska. I only had one or a vise grips at the time so I crimped one line with those, folded the other one back on itself 3 times and used heavy zip ties to hold it. I caged that chamber and drove it 116 mi to a petro where I could get the parts to fix it. No way in hades that I was gonna call some jack off to come out and charge me $1k for $7 worth of parts and 15 min worth of work
crankit2152 and davo727 Thank this.
