I have a 2003 Freightliner Columbia with a selector switch issue. I've replaced the wiring harness I replace the switch I've taken everything apart boilers are working fine. The problem I'm having is the selector switch doesn't engage right away. It takes anywhere from instant to two and a half minutes to switch from low to high or high to low. What else could be the problem. any help would be greatly appreciated. As I go now I risk burning my clutch.Thx Ben

check your ari lines/air switch on shifter?
-
There is proper air pressure and I had replaced the switch along with the entire wire harness.
-
the wire harness???????
the is no wiring harness from the AIR selector switch on the stick. thre are 2 air lines coming down and thruthe floor boards, leading to the back half of the trans. are they new and or in good shape? could be you have a leak in one of them -
could be a small leak rite at the shifter knob, dont take to much of a air leak to make it shift slow. you might also try cleaning the air lines rite at the knob. hope you find the problem

No I have en electric switch which goes to 2 servos on the back of the trans. From the servos is where the air is actuated.

odd mine is all air. my apologies sir

no Problem. I just want to figure this out and running out of options short of pulling the trans.

are the solinoies in the back of the trans tight? what you can do, kinda a PITA, grab a botle of soapy water (grab a helper) and have him flip between high/low rage and spray lines till you see bubbles.
jaminr80 Thanks this.
