hey guys/gals. I am having a couple issues with my truck and no one can seem to figure out whats wrong with it. was wondering if someone on here could help. I have a 2009 International ProStar with a ISX 435 Cummins. Problem #1- If i drive my truck for a while and then stop for fuel, bathroom break etc, i will shut the truck off for 5 to 10 minutes, get back in it to take off and once i turn over the key it will either do nothing at all or it will try to turn over but seems like it dont have enough juice to start and the volts will drop to nothing, and once i turn the key over it shows between 13 and 14 volts. ive had the batteries replaced and i just had the batteries checked and they are all showing good. myself plus the shop has checked all connections and they are clean and tight. but after i let it sit for about 20 minutes it will start up with no problem. Problem#2- i check my oil every morning and it will always be full, i can drive 3,4,5 days with the oil showing full, then i drive another full day then the following morning ill check it and it will be between 1 to 2 gallons low on oil, i have found no leaks on this truck. any input on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Ignition switch body or lose wire on backside, starter relay, bad ground wire contact or wiring, starter solenoid flat/dead spot? When your oil shows 1-2 gal low, are you adding to it or does it come back by itself?

And I had a shop tell me the reason for the starting issue is because the starter is going out.

A bad ground wire may cause that.

Could be a bad starter, but also could be bad cables even though they were checked. Need to do a starter draw or cable drop test to verify.

Loose or corroded cable. Your meter can show you 13-14 volts but your starter can't draw the amps. Sounds more like bad starter. Is there any noise from starter when it doesn't start.

Oh ok. I'll get it to a buddy's house and get all that checked. And no the starter doesn't make any noise at all. I was thinking might be a bad cable from alternater to batteries. I forgot to add that when it don't start I turn on my APU for that 15 to 20 minutes then it will start.

Well that changes. Alternator is bad. Not charging batteries. The oil issue I have no idea. Good luck
