What's the whole point about putting microblue coating on piston, rings rods, cylinder liners, and rod bearings? Does it help with lifespan and have any mpg effects?

It's supposed to reduce friction and raise fuel economy due to that.

They do more than just coat the stuff, but yes it's supposed to help with friction and heat transfer (more or less, depending on what you want)

Several people have done complete motors with it, claim astronomical results supposedly, I've never seen one with my own eyes. I know when you use their wheel bearings you have to install them differently than usual so I'm not sure how a rebuild would go.

There is a member here ( Pullingtrucker ) who Micro blued his Acert with dismal results. 3 years ago when I was still over the road. I ran Micro blue wheel bearings in all positions( reefer ) and gained .75 mpg

I pull a reefer and have all 5 axles with MB bearings installed. I see about 0.75 mpg improvement also. But nobody believes me.

Don't know anything about microblue but I would have to question it on liners and rings. The big craze years ago was the "ptfe" in a bottle that everybody used, worked pretty good except for those that stuck it in a brand new car. When the vehicle was taken back to dealership and found what had been used the warranty was void automatically, it would not allow the rings to seat into the cylinder wall, so oil consumption and low compression was lurking. Anyone know for sure about the microblue coating on liners and such? Like to know myself.
