I have a question, I have a kenworth with cummins engine it recently starter to blow white smoke when I accelerate it does not blow it all the times. I called a friend he told me that it might be one injector he told me to add one quart of transmission fluid to the diesel tank and that should fix the problem until I get it checked. has anyone done this? is it safe? or is there anything else I can do?
Thanks in advance,,,,,

Check your coolant level. Are you loosing coolant?
If so, then its possible your EGR cooler is leaking, or blown head gasket or cracked head.
Any loss of power? What's the outside temperature where you run & when this happens? -
one quart isn't going to do anything on these new engines. if it is an injector going bad it will have to be replaced period. but it could be a lot of other things going bad as well.

It does smell like coolant when i park, I cheked the level and its fine I have no leaks if was by Castaic it was at night so it was king of cool, Im thinking its going to be a injector I should have it checked. btw I don't have a check engine light on.
Thanks for the replies
