Hey Guys, I have an '07 Columbia that has very little pull on any grade. On level ground, it seems to do fine, but once I hit a hill, it spits and sputters the whole way up. Any ideas on what is causing this? Thanks in advance!

Does it have an engine or a gearbox?

There might be something wrong with it, or it could be out of fuel.

    Or a plugged fuel filter.

If it is a Detroit it could be that VVT turbo acting up too...
Start with the cheap stuff first....fuel filters or a collapsed fuel line sucking shut under a hard pull.

    strato Thanks this.

Anyone will tell you that putt putt fart stuff, the EGR valve is probably having trouble. Make sure your truck is turned up to 515 HP with all the fuel savings disabled. The EGR series 60 do not run well, OR pull for a #### for that matter with the 455 HP setting. IN fact, a pre-egr 430 12.7 will out pull your 455 14.0 liter. Fact.

It's a Detroit 60, and haven't seen any excessive smoke. I've had the fuel filters changed and seems to be doing better, but every once in a while it will still act up.

Look into a part called "The ugly fix".....Plugs in in 2 minutes and eliminates the EGR opening and tells the veins in the turbo to stay open like a regular turbo.
You get full boost and the EGR will be disabled.

I had a 2007 Columbia we did this to...Made a HUGE difference and was like driving a whole other truck.
Took a shop all of 5 minutes to set it to 515 HP too...
Actually fuel mileage went up a bit too..
