Been having a bad knock (for lack of a better word). Was thinking engine mounts. Crawled under just now to check things out and found the transmission very very hot to the touch. I'm thinking bearings going bad. What say you?

How is the oil level?

Measure the temperature of transmission oil after a long run, it should be no more than 200-220 F. Make sure you using the right oil for this box. It is a synthetic SAE 50 Long Life. If you running at 250 F all the time, you will destroy all the parts inside.

Just because you think it's hot to the touch doesn't mean much. You can't hold your hand on something that's 140 degrees. If you throw a cup of water on it, and it doesn't sizzle (like touching your finger to your tongue and then touching the surface of an iron to see if it's hot) then it's not too hot. It should have a temperature gauge in the truck, but normal operating temps are probably 180 to 205 and up into the 220 or 230 range if you're working it hard.
Heavyd Thanks this. -
My transmission temp never goes above 200 it stays around 150-180 unless im having to shift alot
