What exactly does a tune up consist of? Is pretty much something a dealership tells you that you need to clean out your pockets?

Anything at a dealer that isn't just one specific thing is a gimmick. Any package deal scam is their bread and butter.

Don't forget to have them top off that blinker fluid.

Running the overhead, adjusting valves, injector's, jakes, to specs. And basically looking everything over. I do mine once a year but Im a little over kill cuz I only average about 50k miles a year. Also, dont go to a dealer, if you can find a specific shop or mechanic that specializes on that specific engine.

I want to do an overhead and crank dampener. I wish my truck had its service records with it. I'd hate to pay for something that was just done by one of the previous owners.
