More info needed. Cummins (not Cummings) made the N14. Are you saying that both trucks have Cummins engines? What Cummins engine is in the other. How were they driven and maintained?

I have seen well maintained N14's go 1.5 million pus before needing an inframe. I've also poorly maintained/abused ones die at 500K.

The most obvious signs of a tired engine are blow-by and oil consumption.

ive worked for a couple fleets in the past that ran n 14s and isxs that ran 30 to 40k drains on conventional oil with no apu which meant lotsa idle time .
all those engines were on theyre death bed before 700 k .
