I put a reman head on my 02 6nz and pressure tested it at 6 pounds and fund that it was leaking coolant out of the exhaust port on the number 1 cylinder dose this mean I got a bad head.

What's that supposed to mean.

i wont be as mature as the others.....
don't you just hate it when you get bad head. such a let down.
it does sound like there is somthing wrong with the head. im not sure how coolant would get directly to the exhaust port without a crack in the head unless its spitting out coolant on the exhaust cycle. -
Well one person I talked to said it could be a cracked liner would that do it?
-
Well if you take the rockers off that cylinder and it still comes out the port it's not a liner.
-
Possibly a pin hole in liner in area of top of piston or rings when piston it is all the way down. Would likely get coolant in oil also. Loosen plug and check after parked overnight. Why was the head replaced to start with? Was the number one an odd color compared to the others when the head was removed? When you tested this was the engine running?
-
tucker Thanks this.

either way the head will have to be removed. if it was a liner you will see antifreeze running down the liners when you remove the oil pan. as well with a cracked head. did you just install the head? could have screwed up one of the rubber grommets for the water ports. or if you didn't check liner protrution have a dropped liner issue.
