No. The ISX, pre DPF, did not have a crankcase filter. Before the DPF versions, it vented to the ground as it had always done in the past. My 2006 ISX with EGR had no crankcase filter. It only became required for emission compliance with the 2007 DPF requirement.

 

That's right, no filter. DPF engines only.

 

My '07 with no DPF owners manual said to change it, but it didn't have one.

 

Two things. 07 is the first year of DPFs, so either you have one of the last EGR only engines, or you have 871 ISX that was build for South America and was DPF exempt.

Some 870 ISX do have a little filter on the left front that is for the turbo actuator, maybe this is what you are thinking of.

Good point. The ISX did have a small filter of the turbo actuator, mounted down low on the block on the left.

 

The '07 I had did have the EGR, but it was built before the 1st of the calendar year of '07, so it did not have the DPF or the crankcase filter.
