They were going downhill in good company.................CUMMINS and Detroit Diesel. Everyone was scrambling to meet unrealistic numbers forced upon them by gov't.
Trust me,you ask the other owners and I am sure they will agree that CAT was no better or worse.

If they stopped making truck engines in 2009, why do i see new trucks specially peterbilts with c15 engines on them and c16 engines. i just saw an ad for a brand new 2014 peterbilt 379 with a Cat C16 engine. and truck paper is loaded with trucks 2009 and up with cat engines on them.... Are they new trucks with old engines ? Are they modify cat engines ? not the same as the ones from 2009 and down ? please someone explain ...

There gliders.... New rolling chassis with whatever year engine you stuff under the hood. Use the search button at the top......
Or goggle truck glider kits.... -
The last model year Cats were factory installed was 2011 IIRC. They may have been 2009 engines but I know a local co. that bought a brand new 2011 W900 with a SDP Cat motor. Every Cat powered truck built after 2011 is in fact a glider. There are a lot of pre 2011 gliders as well.
