Autocar is still making autocar, but they are only making refuse hauler (AKA garbage trucks.) I work on a few of them per year. They still look the same since the 1960's. I hear they are coming out with a new body on them.

W-900A Kenworth, I was driving one until about 5 years ago. Used to get a lot of younger guys checking it out at fuel stops and old timers telling me " I used to have one like it"

I like the classic petes, kws and autocar, some of the old freightshakers are ok,, but for now ugly trucks,, VOLVOS, yuck and the new freightliner with no sun visor how ugly is that, along with the new intertrational prostar, man that thing looks like a over blown pt cruiser. the pete 387 is the same thing as the kw T2000 just diff names but both made by paccar,, go figure.

I'm a big fan of the W900A. I also used to drive a B-model Mack, years ago.
I think that new International Lonestar is a fugly truck.

Pete 379 is the best ever made. The bast today is the Pete 387 or Volvo 670/770.:yes2557:

The uglest thing is the KW T2000 or the new Freightliner Cascada or what ever they call it.:biggrin_2552:

    IMO:
    Ultimate classic = Mack R700

Also, appearance wise, where have trucks gone wrong? =
    (too much) Aerodynamics

What is the ugliest "modern" truck on the road?
Don't think that there are really any "ugly" (modern) trucks out there, but there are a bunch that just aren't pretty; Some of the Flts, and the fleet Int'ls come to mind.
Scratch the comment about no ugly trucks out there, Kabar just made a good point,
The KW T2000 IS one UGLY truck!

Volvo sold Autocar to Grand Vehicle Works in 2001 to get Justice Department approval to buy Renault/Mack . http://www.allbusiness.com/transportation/motor-vehicle-manufacturing/814151-1.html
