With the ignition on, turn the cruise control off and hold the set switch in untill the check engine light starts to flash. cout the flashes. it will flash a two digit number. eg 5 flashs, a short pause and 5 more flashes would be code 55. it may fash several several codes.
If it flashed code 55 there is no faults.

My question is in relation to the first one I guess.. My father is a truck driver and hes out on the road right now but he keeps getting this diagnostic code error. The errors are 55 and 93. He has a 2007 Kenworth truck with a CAT engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows what they translate to. :)

    Thank you

If the CAT owners manual is still in the truck they're listed in there.

Send me a Private Message and I will give you a link to a program that will look up any codes in any heavy diesel engine including CAT. I can not post links here as per rules.

The sensors use a 5 volt referance signal from the ECM, the return is generally between .5 and 4.5v So a pressure sensor for example would return 4.5v with max pressure and .5v with no pressure. The reason it is .5 and 4.5 is so the ECM can tell if there is no pressure or a broken wire, no pressure=.5v Broken wire = 0v returned, 4.5= Max Plressure, 5v = short to power if returned.

many sensors have 3 wires, Signal Ground, Signal Return and 5V Signal Supply, some have 2 and some have more than 3 but the problem is likely on the 3 wire sensors

This code is looking at the 5v signal from the ECM and it has found the voltage is lower than 5v, this can be an ECM problem or excessive load on the 5v Ref or a short to ground in the sensors 5v supply signal internal circuit.

You will need Diagnostic Software, unplug each sensor, one at a time until the 5v supply returns to normal, then replace that sensor if the plug looks OK, if it never comes back to normal, start tracing the 5v signal wire from the ECM to each sensor and look for a rubbed throuh wire... You will nees a schematic and Pinout diagram.

I have a CAT 3406E showing a fault code 1-11 which is showing as "cylinder 1 fault" on the posted PDF file for codes. Does anyone know what the sensors interpret? i.e. Injector, compressor, valves??????

My engine is a 1994 CAT 5EK. I don't have the first set of codes. It is flashing blink pause blink-blink. I am reading this as 1-11. Am I reading this correctly or is there another way of interpreting the code?

That would be a code 12. blink=1 pause blink blink=2. If you had a "blink blink blink blink blink", pause, "blink blink blink blink blink" = 55 mean no fault codes.

I have a 2006 Freightliner Classic with a cat C15. It just started this.
Oil pressure went up to 71lbs and engine temperature went down to 140. No codes and just been serviced. Any ideas why.
