I am trying to find the software programs and cables so I may use my laptop to change the settings on the qualcomm computer in my company truck. Dose any one know where I can aquire or purchase this equipment? I all ready have a good laptop to use I just need the stuff to make it work. By the way I know that they dont care for these practices but my quallcom isnt right and they wont fix it so i will just do it myself so please leave out the preaching.

What are you trying to fix? Most things with the qualcomm can be done through the satellite.

Be very very careful. Companys can tell when the qc(omnivision) has been 'tampered' The new version has a tamper alert built into it.That will tell the home office someone or something is attempting to acess the unit.
Also you will need to know the passwords that your company uses to change things in it. Some companys use double passwords.

What is it doing that you don't like?
I would go to the Director of your Maint. Dept. and tell him, if no good , go to up the ladder. Or just drop a open soda on the keyboard, they will get you a new one.did i just say that? :biggrin_25525:

    Agreed.
The qualcomm is in contact many times during the day with the company. They ping the truck and you don't even know it.

some of the issues is it is throwing overspeeds at 58mph when it is sousposedily set to 69mph.also it some times lets my rpms up to 1500 but sometimes they will only go up to 1100. makes for an intresting time while going through WV. (i mostly run NE) i need to park under a awning so it loosed signel and tweek it so its right.

Won't do any good. The qualcomm is tied to a master computer. Take to the maintenance and have it done by the company. Anything else is risking a job.

If you are talking about the prostar, I have no experience with them.

However, a new truck, I would think the owner would want this resolved. It will cause electrical problems in the future.
