Well, the thing is that I have the side farings and exhaust mounts, it makes concerned where to install.

Had anyone ventured out and tried an K&N oil filter on their Thermo King Tripac yet??? I have looked it up and found that part # HP-8032 from K&N is the filter that will fit the tripac! If no one has used the K&N... What oil filter do you use if it's not the factory oil filter from TK?? Thanks

I have a 3 question to ask. I have a Tri Pak and I have a TK power inverter as well as a Bunk Heater. My question is I turn the main power on and then select Heat mode and then I hit the APU bottom on. Now does this enable the APU to turn on If battery gets low? I and my other question is I was parked tonight and had my light on in the truck and was heating something up in the microwave I have a fridge too. Well it started to beep from the inverter. Now my guess is there was to much power running right? And does anyone know the size of the TK Inverter Watts?

    Thanks

As long as the engine is on, the APU should start in response to a low battery voltage condition. The "beeping" is an alert to a fault condition sensed by the inverter control logic... one of them can be low input voltage due to loading down the battery too much. The inverter power capacity can vary- there's options on that. Pop the bunk open, and it should be marked on the case.

The T/K inverter is 1500 watts, if it is beeping then yes you were drawing to much power, or possibly may have a weak battery or batteries?. But yes if the control panel is on then apu in standby mode and will come on to warm up coolant, charge batteries as needed. Very reliable units, I've serviced mine every 500 hours and kept the radiator clean and condenser clean on back of cab, normal maintenance and have 23,000 hrs on mine. 3 rd truck it's been mounted on.

By the looks of your pic you have a t600, Install shouldn't be much different. I have a t660 I had my tri pac mounted behind my faring on pass side right behind step center panel I have the full side farings back to the drives. only partially lost my pass side box as that is where the eveporator, blower motor and hoses for vents are mounted. I installed the unit myself as this is the 3 rd truck I've put this unit on, took me 2 days at home in the driveway. I'm very meticulous with my work and made sure everything was insulated from vibration, chaffing, and looked professional. did not drill holes in frame it hooks over top of frame and is clamped. Unless you are good with Hvac and good with fabrication and a strong mechanical back ground I would leave it to thermo king. as mentioned in a previous post you get what you pay for in most cases.

I know luber finer makes a filter and baldwin. Since I service mine every 500 hours. I just buy the T/k service kits. Includes both fuel filters, oil filter and air filter.

Main thing people overlook with an apu modern diesel engines with emissions equiptment on it doesnt like to idle long peroids it causes problems with it so while a new truck may be under warrenty you save on the downtime for the main engine nobody figures that in
