The first time and the second time were two different problem. With the front end up at the dock the front drive axle was hanging with no weight on it. When you tried to pull out it was spining a wheel out on the front drive axle. You lock your power divider and put power to the rear axle and out you came. The second time dose sound like a trans problem. Sounds like an air prob. Either not enough air pressure or a blockage to the high low range. It might sound like its going from low to high and back but with low air pressure it might be stuck inbetween.
Just so you know the axle lock or power divider has NOTHING to do with the trans. If locking it makes the truck move its a rear end problem.Hovever With the discription off the nose up at the dock I think it was a traction problem and useing the axle lock got you traction. Thats what its for. If no wheels were spining then its a problem with one of the rears.

I have a 2006Centy Classic Freightliner with smart shift automatic transmission . I was hauling a load and it was fine all night drive but in the morning while pulling unto the traffic from a ramp I felt a tug and the odometer goes down Anyways I consulted several mechanics including Freightliner shop and they said it was what I suspected , the clutch So I replaced the clutch , Well its not the clutch because it does the same thing. Anyway I took it to freightliner and it was diagnosed and they said motor, tranny, turbo, deferential, and all sensors look good . It does no indicate any sensor or other issue to be causing it , BUT it still does it . I have to slowly go to get over 60mph and it does not do it but at the 10th gear if I accelerate to it then comes the tug. Its more like a hiccup , them my rpm goes up then right back down to normal , Neither the shops, or diagnosing can figure out the issue, Has anyone had that experience ? Otherwise it runs good and its strong but I cannot figure what that is and it bothering me.
