Bought the non waste gate 3406 E turbo from JIAMU on e bay installed it, pre oiled, unplugged the injectors cranked it till i was at 45 psi oil pressure, started engine let idle for over 20 minutes then went for a road test. Pulled out on flat ground ,(in wyoming that is a chore in itself lol) by the time i hit 6th gear i heared an unfarmilliar whine at 27 psi boost and from there to about 35 or so the noise elevated to a scream equivelant to 100 loose fanbelts. At this time i let off the throttle and gently tried again and the same results. I have a 5ek 3406e and a pittsburg power and at this elevation rarely see 500HP on the display. The turbo had less bottom end than the original but more top end was able to hit 40psi. The noise after calling the number in california and having the turbo expert/salesman/warrenty claims dept all one person lol. Never heard of a turbo squealing like that and will have to talk to the boss ? Still Waiting for a call back!!! The noise was the thrust bearing/bushing. One half of one side of the thrust washers were discolored blue with a very small amount of brass melted to it. Looks like i will have to aquire one from a manufacturer with a parts department . Will try to post more after a repair attemt doesnt look like a warrenty is going to happen. At this point in time i think it might be a bit of a learning experience!!!! Reafferming if it looks to good to be true... well u know the rest lol BGT

    Jas Thanks this.

If I had a say in this its probably just another Chinese made copy of a Garret turbo which has no quality control and/or quality for that matter.
It is very famous for people that want to get more out of their car to put an "Ebay" turbo kit on their engine, because they make it for everything out there.
I have seen failures going from no oil seal (oil could come out hte air filter), to bad bearings (case here), NO bearings, no exhaust side oil seal, wheels that come apart (which ruin your engine), and best of all, a compressor housing that split open at 5 psi, sending pieces of metal everywhere.
Upon further inspecion after going to their website I am 95% confident this is chinese crap and will advice anyone on this website that is in need for a turbo to avoid this seller.
A way to identify a chinese no name turbo is the lack of a brand on the tag, most of the time it will just say turbocharger or some funky name (turbo xs, ss autochrome, godspeed), the serial numbers are all the same if you happen to see more than one, no real model past the generic model (HX40, HX35), no date code, and a tell tale sign is that a lot of them say M24 on the coldside housing, which is a trademark of a lot of the SMALLER Garret units (T25, T28, and older car turbos) on turbos that are not even a Garret application.

I am the manager from JIAMU Corp.

I don't want to argue anything in here, but what i have to say is, we sell lots of turbo every month, and we keep business realationship with many truck repair shop, diesel part shop, logister company, even truck drivers. We stand by our product, that is why we offer 1 year warranty.

Any of you can go Ebay and search turbo like "CAT C15 TURBO" there and get great turbo with better price! You will find our shop is power seller and top rated, we have a good reputation!

    Thanks.

Hey Rnz520, you think that because Garret is a "Big" name that their turbos are not damageable ? Come on, a drive with a garrett turbo came by to our shop and asked us if we can help him out with his turbo. His "GARRETT" turbo's center piece or the cartridge split in half. we happly sold one of ours to him.
