M11 Humm? Well if it was running before with no problem then lets assume its water related. Locate ECM remove bulk head wiring then blow out with shop air. Then located speed sensor or crank sensor and do the same. First check engine for codes THEN POST BACK.

At key-on check to see if the yellow "Check Engine" and red "Stop Engine" come one for about a second or two. These lights are turned on by the ECM as a system/bulb check. IF the lights do not come one then that means the ECM is not powering up. Carefully check the power wires to the ECM. They should have there own wires from the batteries, but it may come off of the positve post of the starter too. If you do get the lights but won't start check the main injector harness at the rear of engine going into the lower rocker cover housing. If it looks ok then take a hair dryer to the ECM connections and try to dry them out. Also check the single wire to the fuel pump shut down solenoid to make sure it didn't get knocked loose from the wash. Good Luck!

International is the only oem that uses the starter to supply power to the ecm.it is a 3 wire plastic connector that will be near the starter.git rid of it and run your own fused wires to the battery box even if that is not your problem.good luck.

i greatly appreciate your responses......but the plot thickens.....ok so i checked all the connections (thanx heavyd) but they all seem to be ok. so i went in the cab which used to be a fedex truck in its past life and and took out its wireless whatcha ma callit for its stops and delivery reports and such. now before the red and yellow light wouldnt turn on, now only the red engine stop light comes on and blinks, but blinks in unison with a ticking i hear under the rocker cover, now im not sure if it would be a type of security system installed by fedex but when i first bought it it ran tip top now after a bath it just wont run.

also it ticks when i turn the engine over and stop with the key in the on position. if i turn the key off itll continue to tick until i press the diagnostic switch to on.

The tick noise you hear is either the Jake or an injector solenoid clicking. If this happens at key on that's not good! Not supposed to happen. I can't say about any security system, but that behavior does sound like a fried ECM, sorry. Moisture can still be problem, I have seen water trapped inside connectors for days after the last rain, or washing. Did you try to dry the possible water with a hair drier, if not give that a try.

yep tried that, it starts now if you pump the accelorator rapidly while turning over, after it starts if you keep on the pedal itll run but as soon as you go to let it idle it dies, also an xsmn service light is illuminated, and the pdl wont switch off. oh and i dont have jakes so it must be the injector solenoid. it is getting better as it wouldnt even start before its just not fixed yet. i greatly appreciate all your guys's help

so slowly but surely its getting better. now itll start and idle. but....and this is a big but i drove it around the block and as soon as i hit 35mph the engine cut out, and when i slowed to about 15 mph it fired back up, i did this about 5 times each time same thing cut out at 35 fire back up at 15. seems like a limp mode deal as when my vw gti turbo boosts too much it wouildnt go past 45mph and wont rev over 2200 rpm. so im guessing maybe a bad sensor is telling the ecm to go limp or maybe its still a short? oh and yesterday i changed the cam position sensor at the advice of westrux international so that sensor should be ok. is there another sensor that would have this affect?

Nothing that I can think of that won't also turn on the Check Engine Lights too. Engine could derate for low oil pressure or low coolant level, both of these events will light the CEL. It could be loss of throttle position sensor, but that would happen at any speed. Kinda sounds like a fuel pressure problem and the engine is cutting out certain load range at the speed you experience. Are there any fuel shut off valves or levers that may have gotten knocked partially closed or something during the wash?
